Ms. Teeling's 2nd year classes both made beautiful swiss rolls, using in-season fresh fruit and cream to fill their swiss roll!
Today we made macaroni cheese. We made a roux sauce - equal amounts of flour and fat. For the roux sauce we melted butter, added flour and stirred for one minute to cook the flour. We then slowly added the milk into it to form a smooth sauce.
While we cooked the sauce we prepared the pasta, then when the pasta was cooked we added it to the sauce and grated cheese throughout.
It tastes quite creamy and cheesy. If you wanted to modify the recipe you can add meat or vegetables.
